DEVIZES Food and Drink Festival will start on Saturday with stalls in the Market Place and end next weekend with a beer festival at the Southgate Inn.

Inbetween there will be daily foodie events to cater for all tastes.

Tickets are selling well for all the sessions but it is now too late to book for the Darling Spuds of May and cookery class on Wednesday evening at Devizes Books as all tickets have been snapped up. A pop up restaurant at Erlestoke Prison on Monday has also captured the imagination.

On Saturday more than 40 stalls selling food and drink will fill the market place and buskers will entertain. Other events in the week include a Sicilian evening in Old Swan Yard organised by Dolcipani cafe on Tuesday evening and a Pinchos night in San Sebastian on Wednesday at The Bistro.

Two breakfasts are on offer. The first, which doubles as the chamber of commerce's business breakfast with guest speaker Judy Dain from Vaughan's Kitchen, will be at The Bear on 7.30am on Wednesday morning . Guests who book direct with The Bear can pay the members' price of £16.

Next Saturday (23) The Big Breakfast will be held at The Nursteed Centre from 8am to 11pm.

The Southgate beer festival, which will include 15 beers and seven ciders, will be held from next Friday (22) until Monday from noon to midnight each day.
