FUN with reading extended for a whole week at Devizes School as pupils built up to World Book Day when they dressed as character from stories.
The week started with a visit by author Kat Maryon from West Wiltshire who writes books mainly aimed at girls aged nine and over.
She worked with students in years seven and eight to develop their creative writing skills. She said: "They were a lovely group to work with, really engaged and with brilliant ideas."
Next up for pupils was the Devizes School Big Read which involved a five minute silent read followed by the announcement of the book of the year as voted for by students of all ages. The book Girl Online by Zoe Sugg a blogger from Lacock was voted top.
On Friday youngsters and staff dressed as their favourite book characters.
