A man wanted in connection with threatening an officer with a bladed article in Salisbury was arrested in Devizes early this morning.
A 29-year-old man from Salisbury was arrested in the early hours of this morning in Forty Acres Road, Devizes, on suspicion of making threats to kill and affray.
The incident took place at 3.23pm on Wednesday, December 10, in St Michael's Road, Salisbury.
Following the incident, armed officers patrolled the city in an attempt to find the man.
Police then appealed for help in tracing Luke Elliott Smith, 29, who they wanted to speak urgently in connection with the incident.
Inspector Dave Minty said: "A number of officers have been involved in attempting to locate the wanted man over the past 48 hours.
"Since the incident, we have worked tirelessly to find and arrest the individual.
"He was arrested close to Forty Acres Road in Devizes at around 1.20am this morning.
"I would like to thank the local community for their help in this investigation and reassure them that incidents such as these are not a regular occurrence."
