THE visitor centre at Wadworth Brewery in Devizes has made it to the finals of the South West Tourism awards.

It has been named as one of the best small visitor attractions in the region and is the only Wiltshire contender in the category.

Visitor centre manager Michelle Field said: “We are absolutely thrilled to receive the news that we have been selected as finalists.

“To be amongst the winners in a tourism region as strong as the South West is a huge achievement, and testament to the dedication shown by all the team.’’

The visitor centre was set up seven years ago as a hub for the brewery’s tours and also sells beer and other Wadworth gifts.

The team will now attend an awards ceremony at the Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare on February 12 where they will learn if they have won a bronze, silver or gold award.
