The former Phones 4U store on The Brittox, Devizes reopened as Vodafone shop today, saving five jobs.
The company banned the Gazette from talking to the staff, five of whom lost their jobs when Phones 4U went into administration in mid-September and have now been employed by Vodafone.
Instead, it issued through its press office a statement from store manager Eric Jardine that said: “We are thrilled to have a place on the Devizes high street and look forward to offering our services and advice to the local community.
“Our in-store team is a combination of those who have previously worked for Phones 4U and for Vodafone, and we are ready to offer the best possible experience to everyone who walks through the door.”
The shop is part of Vodafone’s £100 million nationwide expansion and the Devizes store is one of the 139 Phones 4U stores Vodafone acquired on September 22.
