Breast cancer survivor Jan Stonestreet launched the annual charity fundraising drive at Curves gym in Devizes by putting the first bra into a new collecting bank.
The gym is taking donations of old undies for a bra bank, which will donate money per kilo of garments to the Against Breast Cancer charity.
Collected bras go to women in developing countries.
People who are not gym members can also donate by dropping bras into Curves.
Mrs Stonestreet said: “I was very pleased to be asked to put the first bra in.
“I am always happy to get involved in activities and events for cancer charities.”
She has been a Curves member since the gym was opened in 2007.
Curves will be waiving its joining fee during October, in return for a donation to Breast Cancer Care by new members.
It is also planning a fundraising party with 'boob-shaped' cakes and other fun on October 27.
The gym will be accepting bras, in any condition, until the end of October.
