A man has been remanded in custody accused of conspiring to defraud Lloyds TSB bank in Devizes.
The alleged offence took place in October 2011. Police were called when bank staff became suspicious of a CHAPS document requesting a payment of £13,200.
Chioma Goodness Ojimadu, 35, of Wolverhampton, was arrested at Birmingham Airport on March 25.
Ojimadu did not enter a plea when he appeared before magistrates in Chippenham on Thursday, where he had an interpreter and spoke Igbo, a language native to Nigeria.
Ojimadu will appear at Salisbury Crown Court on April 11.
