Fun day to help boost charity skydive

A fun day is being held at Rudloe Social Club from 1-5pm on Saturday to raise funds for a woman to do a charity skydive in her mother’s memory.

Marie Woodward, 29, hosts the event – to include a tombola, raffle, barbecue and bouncy castle – at the centre, in Leylands Road, to help raise the £500 she needs to do a skydive in tribute to her mother Rosemary Ashby, 59, who died in November last year from liver cancer.

Mrs Woodward, who lives in Long Close Avenue, in Rudloe, with husband Alan, 29, and son Lucas, four, wants to raise money for the British Liver Foundation through the skydive which she plans to do later in the summer at an airfield in Swindon.

She said: “I thought this was a nice thing to do to honour my mother as she would have been 60 this year, and the British Liver Foundation need all the support they can get.”
