Huge crowds have been turning out this week for Lacock village's annual scarecrow trail.

Visitors bustled around the village during the good weather on Saturday and Sunday guessing the identities of 37 Popstar scarecrows that had been made by villagers.

The trail is an event run by Friends of Lacock CE Primary School as a way of raising funds for the school.

School governor Simon Winfield was helping out at the trail over the weekend.

He said: "We have seen a brilliant turn out so far with hundreds of people taking part yesterday and today and the sunshine helped although today was a bit overcast at times.

It was a great day out for both children and parents.

Paul Durham, 38, from Calne, said: "It has been a really good day. its the first year we have come to the scarecrow trail and ts great fun. The weather has been lovely as well."

His six-year-old daughter Rebecca said: "It's really fun trying to find all of the scarecrows and guess who they are."

The trail is running until April 19 and forms are £2 and can be bought from the school and other locations around the village.

The school is also selling Scarecrow Trail bags for life designed by a pupil in a competition, for a £1.
