WILTSHIRE author Dawn Henderson has just published her fifth novel and her first romantic read – with a storyline inspired by the popular BBC TV programme Strictly Come Dancing.

Her 55,000-word short novel ‘Heel Lead’ has been inspired by Dawn's passion for ballroom dancing and is tipped to become a hot favourite with both Strictly fans and those who enjoy reading a romance.

Twelve years ago, Dawn walked into her first ballroom dance class and the love affair began. Since then she has tango’d and quickstepped, waltzed and rumba’d through life.

Although at the time of writing Heel Lead, she is without a permanent dance partner, she is fortunate enough to have good friends who lend her their men occasionally – she usually hands them back undamaged.

Dawn, 57, who has recently moved house from Melksham to Corsham, said: “While the setting is a ballroom dance class, you don’t have to be a Strictly fan to enjoy the story and the world it creates.

“It’s a passionate, emotional and sometimes poignant story that entertains while tugging at your heartstrings, and offers a captivating take of the power of love, dance and the ties that bind us.”

Dawn Henderson lives and writes in Wiltshire, surrounded by the rolling down and mysterious, ancient monuments that inspire many of her novels.

Writing as D.K. Henderson, she is the author of four fantasy adventure series, The Skull Chronicles, including Lost Legacy, The Red Skull of Aldebaran, Daughter of the Gods and Khalia’s Tomb.

Ms Henderson, who works part-time as an administrator, added: “Up until now, my books have only been available as print on demand through Amazon. That is all about to change.

“In a very short while, several of them, beginning with Lost Legacy, will also be available on most other eBook platforms, including iBooks, Nook, Kobo, Scribd and many others.

“In addition, I am changing the way I publish the paperback versions to make it easier to order them through your favourite bookstores. It will be a gradual process, due to the level of work involved; however, I hope to have the first books available by the end of this year.”

Heel Lead, priced at £6.99, is available online. To find out more, visit DK Henderson’s website at www.dkhenderson.com, or her Facebook page, @DawnKHenderson.
