OFFICE workers from The Pensions Solutions Group swapped their desks for dog kennels to raise money for Bath Cats and Dogs Home.

Accounts executive Pearl Belcher, marketing executive Marcus Forsey and PA Maria Merry from the Box-based firm were among a number of willing inmates from different companies in the region to take on the annual Kennel Break challenge.

The contest involved being locked into dog rescue pens and hounding their connections to raise £1,000 for their release.

Following a busy morning working behind dog kennel bars on June 9 their team, called Scooby Doo, successfully collared contacts and friends to retrieve £1,258.75 in donations in just three hours.

The home is the firm’s charity of the year and is one of the biggest and busiest adoption and rehoming centres in the South West, rehoming around 1,300 animals from across Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire every year.

During the last six years, Kennel Break challengers have helped the charity to raise £67,023 towards the £1.4 million annual running costs it needs to attract.
