THEY won the BBC Radio Two folk award for the best duo three years ago and now Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin are gearing up to play Corsham next week.

The duo, who began playing together in alt-folk band the Roots Union in 2009, will show off their musical prowess at the Pound Arts Centre on Thursday, February 16.

Picked up by Steve Knightley while busking on Sidmouth seafront and invited on tour, the pair have been on a whirlwind experience around the country, picking up awards left, right and centre and now they hope to entertain the masses with their brand new show.

"Being able to do this is wonderful," Ms Martin said. "It is a very social job and when they finally invent tele-transportation or whatever, we will have the best job in the world!

"We are much more varied than people expect us to be. When they hear of folk people tend to think it is limited. We have got a huge range of influences and Phil even does this beat box harmonica thing which is amazing. We do lots of proper songs with proper stories behind them too."

To purchase £14 tickets for the show, which starts at 8pm, call the box office on 01249 701628 or visit www.poundarts.org.uk
