THE daughter of a Chippenham woman who has been missing for the past three days has thanked the public and police in their efforts in trying to find her, and renewed calls for any information which might help locate her.

Susan Weston, of Cepen Park South, was last seen at lunchtime on Monday before her car was later discovered at the car park by Selwyn Hall in Box, near Corsham.

Police have conducted a number of searches in the area and family and friends have distributed leaflets and shared an appeal on Facebook in a bid to find the missing 58-year-old.

Mrs Weston’s daughter, Amanda Gray, said: “We’re extremely overwhelmed that we have had so much support and we’re doing everything that we can.

“She had said (before she went missing) she was going to go to Seymour House Care Home in Chippenham.

“She lived in Corsham and grew up there, that’s where we thought she would have gone but this car park is not somewhere we would have expected her to go.

“She’s been to the car park before, my brother used to play 5-a-side and she did dog walks but it’s not somewhere that she frequented.

“If people have any information, however small just contact the police.

“I don’t know what to say, I’m missing my mum and want to find her safe.”

Mrs Weston, a retired community carer, is described as white, approximately 5ft 3inches tall with light brown shoulder length hair.

She was last seen wearing a black coat, black boots, a quilted top and dark coloured tights, as shown in the CCTV images released by police today which were taken at the Cooperative store in Queen's Crescent.

Officers are being supported by Wiltshire Search and Rescue (WILSAR) who are a team of professionally trained volunteers who provide specialist assistance to Wiltshire Police in the search for vulnerable missing persons.

Police have also reemphasised that at this stage they are not seeking members of the public to join the search teams.

Inspector Dave Stevenson said: “We have coordinated searches taking place, and although we are pleased to see the community coming together to try and support us, we would like to politely ask that the public do not get involved in searches at this stage as they could unintentionally get in the way of our searches, or come into danger themselves.

“We remain very concerned about Mrs Weston’s welfare – Mrs Weston’s car has been located in the Box area therefore we continue to focus our searches in this area.

“I would continue to ask members of the public to report any sightings or information about Mrs Weston’s whereabouts to police via 101 – please do not leave information on our social media pages.

“All information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, is extremely important to our investigation.”
