LUCKNAM Park's very own junior sous chef impressed two of Britain's top chefs during the heat stages of MasterChef: The Professionals.

Elly Wentworth, who has been cooking for eight years, blew Michelin starred Marcus Wareing and Monica Galetti away with her final fish-inspired dish during the episode which aired on the BBC on Tuesday and secured her place in this year's quarter-finals.

The 24-year-old showed off her award-winning skills with a glazed turbot with seaweed macaroni, topped with sea vegetables, clams, grapes which was served with a vierge sauce which Marcus Wareing scored as a 10 out of 10.

"I am delighted to have got onto the programme and thrilled to have received a 10 out of 10 from Marcus Waring in my first round," she said.

Miss Wentworth, who has been put through to the quarter-finals which will be aired tonight (Thurs) at 8pm, was told she had made a good start to the show and displayed good skills by the judges.

Hywel Jones, executive chef at the Park Restaurant in Lucknam Park, said: "I was absolutely delighted but not at all surprised to see Elly do so well on MasterChef: The Professionals last night.

"She is a huge talent and has a huge career in front of her.

"The entire brigade and myself are so proud to have her as part of the team here at Lucknam Park and will be rooting for her in the quarter finals."
