CORSHAM IT services and solutions company NCE recently held an open day when IT students from Wiltshire College were shown around and learnt more about the business, as the firm prepares to start taking on local apprentices in 2017.

The students were given an interactive presentation on arrival, led by sales director Jon Woodward. This was followed by a tour of the functions workshop and a look into the extensive tech repair centre, where they saw the team repairing police body cameras.

Director Martyn Coles said: “These types of open days are very important to us, especially as we are needing to expand the business and double in size over the next four years. We hope to make open days a regular event and are very excited about the launch of our new apprenticeship scheme.”

Wiltshire College also have high aspirations for the apprenticeship scheme, which they will be running in partnership with NCE to boost their workforce with local talent. Tracey Steele, business development consultant for Wiltshire College, who works with apprenticeships and work experience, said: “It was such a success that all of the attendees now plan to apply for the work experience opportunity which will start in April 2017, with the apprenticeship starting June 2017."

NCE hope the scheme will mean the firm, which works for companies worldwide, will get more involved in the local community.

Founded in 1998 in San Diego, California, NCE employs around 180 people in the UK.
