A 70-YEAR-OLD living in Corsham ticked another item off the bucket list as she jumped 15,000ft from a plane in aid of Diabetes UK.

Janet Martin of Wadswick Green, who has been living with type one diabetes for 63 years, was inspired to raise money for the charity after her experience with the condition by jumping out the plane in September.

The former charity speaker said: "It seems a long time ago to me now but it has been on my bucket list for years and where I was living before didn't have a facility available so when we moved here and there was one in Salisbury - I couldn't put it off any longer!

"I wasn't nervous or anxious and that worried me a bit. The other people I jumped with were all at different stages of terror and I just wanted to get it done. I felt violently sick when we did jump and it was quite uncomfortable as I had a blinding headache during the descent and I wanted to be sick but I was in a tandem and had a man on my back so to speak!"

Mrs Martin, who has also done gliding and mountain jumps in the past, was met by charity representatives on September 28 for a cheque presentation.
