THE village hall in Colerne was oozing with creativity as friends and family of the late Jemima Prees entered their creations into a variety of categories to raise money for the charity set up in her name.

Inspired to make a difference after her sister died in a skiing accident in 2013, Annabel Prees organised the Festival of Creativity to raise awareness and money for the charity.

The 18-year-old said: "We raised just under £1,000 which is great. There were lots of people there all day and although there were a lot of people who came because they knew of Jemima there were a few people who came in after wandering round the town who had never heard of Jemima's Gift so that was good.

"We thought it would be quite nice. We do a music marathon every year but then I wanted to get people involved that weren't necessarily musically inclined so we ended up doing this. It was really good and hopefully I will get asked to do it again."

Entrants of all ages won across the six categories of produce, baking, literature, art, crafts and performance although the award for the best adult was presented to Peter French, while Henry Williams took home the £25 voucher for the best child.
