JULIA'S House is set to get another generous donation from the Rotary Club in Chippenham after 300 people took park in an organised walk around Corsham Park.

The Rotary Club, who organised the event after discovering the annual memory walk had been moved to Bath, have spoken of their joy of raising more than £700 pound for Julia's House and the Bath Cats and Dogs Home.

Stuart Gilbert, Vice President of the Rotary Club in Chippenham said: "We were delighted because it was the first time we had done something like this. We were not sure about how many people to expect and we were a bit unsure about the weather but Sunday was very kind to us.

"So far we are up to about £700 and we are expecting a bit more money to come through from sponsorships. It was all a little bit last minute but we managed to organise this year's with the permission from Paul Methuen. We were delighted with it and we have also learnt a lot of lessons for next year."

Twenty-five per cent of the proceeds will be donated to Bath Cats and Dogs Home at the request of Mr Methuen, who is a keen supporter of the charity, while the remaining 75 per cent will be donated to Julia's House.

The Rotary Club in Chippenham will be hosting the Dodington Parish Brass Band at their next event in Chippenham for Julia's House on October 8.
