FLORAL tributes and cards are lining Bath Road, Pickwick, following the death of Corsham's Lee Harding who died in a motorcycle accident there on April 26.

Mr Harding, 35 of Northleaze, suffered serious injuries when the Suzuki motorcycle he was riding collided with a Citroen C4 two weeks ago and family, friends and neighbours have paid their respects ever since.

Born in Bath, Mr Harding, one of two brothers along with Lee, spent the early years of his life settling in Paxcroft, Trowbridge, then Gastard before settling down for good in Corsham where he attended Corsham Secondary School.

His father Anthony, who has been a widow since his wife Sheila died eight years ago, said ever since Mr Harding, who had a love for fishing, left school he has worked in a self employed role in the building trade.

"I have received calls and people stopping by to pay their respects which is very nice. I guess it is testament to his character," said his father.

"He was a lovely lad. He was cherished and valued by many. He meant the world to me, just everything and he was a son to be proud of.

"I will miss him so much. We were quite alike. He took after me in the job trade and he was great to be around. He had his faults like everyone but he was my son. I will miss him dearly."

Residents of Northleaze also paid their respects to Mr Harding, who had lived on the site for two years.

Neighbour David Say, 76, said: “I only knew him for two years but he was a very nice person, and a good neighbour. We always had a good natter

I knew his dad well, he is a good friend. Him Lee and his brother Graham did an excellent job with our conservatory.

“I was in shock, the whole place was when we found out. We will miss him dearly."

Neighbour Ginny Harris, 79, added: "One woman saw him drive out on his motorbike at around 8pm and 15 minutes later he was pronounced dead - it is so sad to die so young.

"He was a very pleasant lad. He kept himself to himself but he was always very polite and friendly."

Neighbour Pamela Moore, 78, added: "He was a lovely young lad. He always acknowledged you and was a good edition to the mobile home park. It is an awful shame. We are a very tight nit community and we will miss him so."

A post-mortem examination will be carried out and a file will be prepared for H M Coroner for Wiltshire.

A police spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr Harding at this very sad time.
