THEATRICAL innovators Gonzo Moose hit the road this spring with their brand new sci-fi comedy adventure Great Scott, which premiers in at The Pound in Corsham this week.

Antarctica, 1912. Captain Scott and his men perish in a snow storm during their brave attempt to be the first to reach the South Pole. But what if that isn’t what actually happened? What if the truth is so shocking that it’s been covered up for more than 100 years? What if Captain Scott actually perished whilst saving the world from aliens?

Based on newly discovered evidence, Gonzo Moose reconstruct Scott’s last days and reveal the explosive truth about what really happened at the bottom of the world. Played out on a dramatic, desolate landscape of snow and glaciers, featuring frozen beards, giant penguins and, of course, aliens.

Great Scott! is another epic, anarchic comedy from the company that brought you What The Dickens, Grimm And Grimmer and I’m An Aristocrat, Get Me Out Of Here, and aims to be their most mind-boggling adventure yet.

"We are thrilled to be touring our brand new show Great Scott! around the UK this spring and summer. Expect Scott of the Antarctic meets the X-files with puppetry, knock-about comedy and some truly explosive conspiracy theories," said Mark Dawson, artistic director of Gonzo Moose.

Charity Colborne, marketing co-ordinator at Pound Arts, said: “Gonzo Moose are such an innovative and anarchic theatre company, and our audiences always enjoy their shows. Their previous interpretations on the life of Charles Dickens and other historical characters have been hilarious. We look forward to another madcap tale – with an icy twist.”

Tickets for Great Scott! are £12 (£11 concessions) for the preview performances tonight (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday), both at 7.30pm, and £14 (£13 concessions) for opening night on Saturday.

The show is suitable for over-sevens and tickets are available from The Pound’s box office on 01249 701628/poundarts.org.uk

Next week the show sets off on a national tour, and is back in the area again in May, when it can be seen on May 11/12 at The Rondo, Bath.
