A charity car wash is being held this Saturday in aid of the Fire Fighters Charity.

Local drivers can go along to Corsham fire station, in Beechfield Road, between 11am and 2pm and get their vehicles cleaned in return for a donation.

As well as car washing, the Corsham firefighters will be able to give home fire safety advice to visitors, and anyone who is interested in becoming an on-call firefighter with Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service can go along to find out more.

Also on Saturday, other firefighters will be across the road from the fire station at the new Springfield Community Campus, providing a fire engine as one of many attractions at the site’s open day.

The Fire Fighters Charity provides help to serving and retired personnel, their widows/widowers and young dependants through the provision of sheltered accommodation, recuperative facilities, rehabilitation and therapy, as well as giving financial support to those who need it.

The charity works with some 11,000 beneficiaries every year at a cost of £9 million per annum, and these services are financed almost exclusively by fundraising.
