TEENAGER Matt Cannon from Colerne is competing in the final of the Bath Film Festival’s FilmScore competition.
After beating off more than 100 teenagers across the West Country and being shortlisted as one of seven entrants, Matt, 16, will find out today whether he is the winner at music venue Komedia in Bath.
The competition, which is encouraging a new generation of film music composers, asked The Corsham School pupil to compose a new piece of music from a choice of short films.
The judging panel includes Emmy and Brit nominated composer Sarah Class and singer/songwriter Kelvin Swaby and will be presented by BBC Points West reporter Ali Vowles.
The overall winner will receive an engraved trophy and £1,000. The second prize is a trophy and £500 and the third prize is a trophy and £250. In addition, all of the finalists will receive voucher for money off electronic instruments, digital musical equipment and software.
