A SECOND sheep in Corsham has died as a result of a dog attack in the last five months.
It is thought owners are letting their dogs off their leads leaving them to run off and attack the sheep causing fatal injuries.
More than six other sheep have also been attacked and injured since October.
Police are now appealing for witnesses following an attack on Thursday at 2pm in fields behind Corsham Primary School.
It is thought two women were walking a young Alsatian dog when it ran away near the Corsham Court area and made its way across the fields towards Pound Pill.
Officers would like to hear from the two women walking the dog. One has been described as being aged 40-50 with shoulder length fair hair and of medium build. The other is thought to be between 20-30 with long dark hair, wearing glasses and of slim build.
Anyone with information can call 101.
Police are also urging people to keep their dogs on leads to prevent further attacks.
