Being on the TV show Take Me Out was one of the best decisions Harriette Beazer has made and although she is still single, she has made some friends for life.

The 22-year-old from Gastard appeared on the ITV dating show, hosted by Paddy McGuinness, in the hope of finding romance.

And it wasn’t long before Miss Beazer caught the eye of Will Smith, a scuba diving instructor from Preston, who chose to take her to the Isle of Fernado’s for a date; which included a bumpy ride on some camels.

Although the pair are now just friends, she says she could not have chosen a better person to go on a date with.

She said: “My overall experience has just been amazing; there is not one negative thing I could say about it at all. I’ve made some true friends for life, and met such interesting people as well.

“When I first accepted the opportunity to go on the show, there were a lot of times where I thought, ‘should I really be doing this?’ ‘is this really for me?’ but I can honestly now say, going on Take Me Out was the best decision I ever made.”

At first Miss Beazer swore to her family and friends she would not watch herself on TV but soon gave in to peer pressure.

She added: “It was definitely bizarre seeing my face on the TV in my living room, and I was most definitely cringing behind a pillow at some of the stuff I said, but it certainly was not as bad as I thought it would be.

“After my date was aired, my nan actually rang me to tell me how proud she was of me. Hearing that put any negative thoughts that I had about the show straight to the back of my mind.”

Since the show the trainee quantity surveyor has had interest from people asking if she would like to do more TV work and has also been invited to compete in Miss England. She added: “I am currently single, but who knows, maybe being on the show will finally bring me my perfect man.”
