A JUDGE has issued a warrant for the arrest of a former Swindon man who is accused of unfair trading in relation to work on people's driveways in Whitley, near Melksham.

Frank Webb, 57,  had been due to appear at Swindon Crown Court to enter his pleas to the allegations under Consumer Protection From Unfair Trading Regulations.

But when Webb failed to turn up by lunchtime on today, Judge Tim Mousley QC issued a warrant without bail to bring him before the court.

Andrew Eddy, defending, said he was aware his client was no longer living at his previous address on Bath Road, Swindon.

Webb is said to have not told a householder about her right to cancel a contract over work to clean outside her house.

And he is also said to have changed the price for the work in February from £90 to £150.

During the same week it is alleged he made false representation regarding the replacement of a concrete pathway and aggressive commercial practices relating to block paving at another house in the village.

Webb, formerly of Hay Lane, Wroughton, is being prosecuted by Wiltshire Council for the alleged offences.
