Become a royal of Chippenham's river

A river royalty contest and disco is set to be held early next month to crown Chippenham River Festival’s first ever River King and Queen.

The evening, from 7-9pm on August 3, takes place at Jax Landing on Bath Road.

Fancy dress with a royal or river theme is a must, and entries are
welcome from those aged 18 and over.

The royal couple will feature in the spectacular Chippenham River Festival Flotilla, which will launch the festival, leaving the sailing club at 10.45am and sailing along the River Avon to the town bridge.

Chippenham Sea Cadets will also
feature in the flotilla carrying their president, Chippenham mayor Andy Phillips.

Chippenham River Festival takes place on August 25-26, 10am-5pm, on the River Avon and Island Park, beside the town bridge. See www.chippenhamriverfestival. co.uk for more details
