Chippenham business parks to get boost
8:00pm Saturday 30th June 2012 in Chippenham
A new partnership has been launched with the aim of redeveloping Hathaway Retail Park and much of Langley Park in Chippenham.
The Central Chippenham Partnership, made up of Aberdeen Property UK Retail Parks Trust and the Ash-tenne Industrial Fund, are hoping to regenerate the 54-acre zone of existing retail and former industrial buildings situated to the north of the town centre.
The partnership was formed when Ashtenne, which owns Langley Park, was asked by Chippenham Vision and the local planning authority to deliver a strategy for both business parks.
The partnership ultimately hopes to submit plans for a mixed-use scheme which will provide improved amenities for the town and the businesses on both parks.
Simon Moscow, director at Aberdeen Asset Manage-ment, said: “The partnership will bring together a variety of retail, leisure, industrial and residential elements, which will bring out the very best in the site for the town.”
Wayne Locke, director at Ashtenne, said: “The plans we are investing in will sit very much within Wiltshire Council’s Core Strategy.
“Working with Aberdeen Asset Management, we will unlock one of Chippenham’s most significant private sector-led investments over the next 18 months to two years. Once delivered, this will undoubtedly act as a magnet for future investment.”
The Central Chippenham Partnership will carry out workshops and consultation processes in the town over the coming months.
