SIXTY years after their special day Pat and Norman Shaw are still going strong and put it all down to the age-old adage - give and take.
They marked their milestone on Thursday at a meal with friends and family. They met 62 years ago when Mr Shaw, now 84, was in the Army stationed near Mrs Shaw's home in Sunningdale, Berkshire, where she worked making spark plugs.
The couple courted for several months before Mr Shaw popped the question during a visit to his family in Halifax, Yorkshire.
They have two children, Mel and Wendy, five grandsons and two great-grandsons.
Mrs Shaw, 77, said they moved to Chippenham six years ago to be closer to their family. She said. "The past 60 years have been absolutely wonderful."
