NEARLY 50 homemade scarecrows will appear around Lacock from Saturday as part of a special fundraising event for the village school.
The theme for the fourth annual scarecrow trail is fictitious heroes and villains, with each scarecrow made representing a different character.
Parents, local businesses and residents have all had a hand in creating the puppets, which are then placed in front gardens around the village.
Entrants must then follow a map from each one to the next, guessing who they are meant to be along the way.
Those taking part in the trail must buy an entry form for £1.50 and a map.
The winner will be drawn from a hat on April 17. The scarecrow fair is on March 25 from 11am to 3pm at Lacock School.
