Death crash victim's cousins jailed

TWO cousins of death crash victim Nicky Gough have been jailed after a court heard how they carried out a violent revenge attack on the family of motorist Martin Rowley.

Swindon Crown Court heard Aidan Minnis, 19, of Pitman Avenue, Trowbridge, and Daniel Crewe, 20, of Pockeridge Road, Corsham, blamed Mr Rowley for the accident at Derry Hill last Easter in which Mr Gough and his girlfriend Collette Holbrook were killed.

He had been driving behind them at the time fo the crash.

Judge Charles Wade said: "In my view this was a deliberate and premeditated attack in the sense that you went to the house knowing violence might follow.

"It was an appalling attack. In one view a revenge attack which went hopelessly wrong as the subject of your wrath, as it were, was not in the house anyway."

He ruled both were dangerous offenders and jailed Crewe for a year with a one year extended licence and Minnis for 18 months with a 15 month extended licence.
