Superstar Danny Dyer proved a huge hit with revellers in Chippenham at the weekend when he stopped off at Karma nightclub.

Actor Dyer, who has starred in a string of hit films including Mean Machine and Football Factory, played a DJ set before mingling with clubbers during his special appearance.

Club owner Mike Rosser said the night exceeded all his expectations.

He said “It was such a fantastic night.

“We were expecting it to be a big event, because we set up a Facebook group and had over 800 confirmed guests for the night and another 900 said they might be coming.

“But it was massive, such a big event.”

Dyer spent over an hour in the club and took part in a meet and greet session where fans could have their picture taken with him.

Mr Rosser said: “Danny came in and had a drink and looked over the balcony and it was just manic - we had women throwing themselves at him and even throwing their knickers. It was mad, like a proper superstar and I’ve never seen anything like it.

“It took us about three attempts to get him downstairs at one point, there was just hundreds of people surrounding him - he’s a big star. The atmosphere in there was just electric, everyone loved it.”

He added: “We avoided any queues by telling people to get here early, and we had a drinks promotion from 8pm so it was great, and everyone behaved fantastically.”

Clubber Alex Moran said: “It was absolutely amazing, I’ve never seen so many people in one night club before.

“It was definitely the best night in Karma since it opened.”

Mr Rosser said he has several guests in the pipeline, including singer Ironik, and he is also hoping Tinchy Stryder, who recently hit number one in the charts with single ‘Number 1’ will make an appearance soon.
