Dyer is a hit with Chippenham club crowd

Superstar Danny Dyer proved a huge hit with revellers in Chippenham at the weekend when he stopped off at Karma nightclub.

Actor Dyer, who has starred in a string of hit films including Mean Machine and Football Factory, played a DJ set before mingling with clubbers during his special appearance.

Club owner Mike Rosser said the night exceeded all his expectations.

He said “It was such a fantastic night.

“We were expecting it to be a big event, because we set up a Facebook group and had over 800 confirmed guests for the night and another 900 said they might be coming.

“But it was massive, such a big event.”

Dyer spent over an hour in the club and took part in a meet and greet session where fans could have their picture taken with him.

Mr Rosser said: “Danny came in and had a drink and looked over the balcony and it was just manic - we had women throwing themselves at him and even throwing their knickers. It was mad, like a proper superstar and I’ve never seen anything like it.

“It took us about three attempts to get him downstairs at one point, there was just hundreds of people surrounding him - he’s a big star. The atmosphere in there was just electric, everyone loved it.”

He added: “We avoided any queues by telling people to get here early, and we had a drinks promotion from 8pm so it was great, and everyone behaved fantastically.”

Clubber Alex Moran said: “It was absolutely amazing, I’ve never seen so many people in one night club before.

“It was definitely the best night in Karma since it opened.”

Mr Rosser said he has several guests in the pipeline, including singer Ironik, and he is also hoping Tinchy Stryder, who recently hit number one in the charts with single ‘Number 1’ will make an appearance soon.

I know he's been on the telly but "Superstar"? Hardly.

Superstar is way above Mr Dyers league - he's not even a good actor!

Yeah, a real superstar!

Mr. Rosser you need a reality check. If you had a proper night club, then you could attract real superstars. Back in the early 80's Golddiggers (when it was a proper night club) hosted such names as Iron Maiden, The style Council, The Smiths, Madness......

Danny Dyer DJ'ing..............
..pah!

You've been watching too many of Danny Dyer's "Hardest Men" videos with language like "ledge" and "proper gentleman". Ha ha ha pmsl. You might want to add gercha, innit, dissin, do wot and cushdy to your inevitable reply.

What a suprise the 'old **** brigade' having a pop at a fun night that involved young people in Chippenham enjoying themselves and doing so without any trouble. More things like this would give people in Chippenham something to do and perhaps help curb some of the anti-social behavior we see happening.

Well done Mr Rosser, despite peoples opinions on Danny Dyer you have done something worthwhile, if you bothered reading the article you will notice that more are planned such as Tinchy Strider. I dont expect you to know who that is as you are all probably way passed 30. I personally dont like him, but why not just let the young generation enjoy what they like without continually having a pop?

Way passed (think you mean "past")30...errr,
you mean like Mr Dyer. He's 32 by the way. But hey, horses for courses. If it keeps the students and chavs out of the pubs where I go, I'm all for it.Well done Mr Rosser.More of the same please.

Paddy - wow you managed to correct my spelling. Good comeback!

I also said way (past) 30 so saying Dyer is 32 is grasping at straws.

As for wanting people out of the pubs you frequent, did you not know everyone has the right to go where the choose? People like you are what drives a wedge between different ages and then you (Royal you) moan that you get no respect from them!

I know Danny Dyer is no superstar, but he did pack out the club, so fair play. Do what? As is 'appens, knock it on the 'ed. Next nonth they could have Phil Mitchell or Chas and Dave - Even better Barry off Eastenders and Extras.

I think Phil Mitchell will take a spin on the tables once his throat problem has cleared up - it has clearly been a problem for Phil for th past 18 years or so on Eastenders.
