Youngsters could have a long wait before a long-awaited BMX park is finally built in Chippenham.
At the first meeting of the Chippenham Area Board on Monday, Chippenham Town Council leader Andrew Noblet vowed to do everything in his power to push the plans along.
But he said no progress could be made until the Football Foundation had finalised plans to build a floodlit pitch at the park.
He said: “It is a very complex issue, which I think is due to access problems at the site.
“I am as frustrated about this as everyone else is.
“This is key to the progress of Stanley Park and until this is achieved nothing else can move forward.
“I will try and push it along as hard as I can, I will try again and again and again but I have tried very hard so far to get it moving.”
Area board chairman Coun Desna Allen added: “I am aware that there is a lot to consider, but these people will be grown up and have children of their own before anything happens.”
An action group, CAYPIG, was set up last year to voice the opinions of young skaters in the town and the group regularly meet with town councillors to discuss any progress.
