STUDENTS from secondary schools across the county took part in an art workshop with award-winning animator David Bunting.
They produced a three minute humorous film based on a Wiltshire news programme and ended the workshop with a presentation in front of parents, friends and tutors.
Twenty-four pupils from Years 9, 10 and 11 took part in the Amazing Animation workshop last week at Wiltshire College Chippen-ham. The workshop, led by Mr Bunting with colleague Dan Ramsay from Aardman Animation, creators of Wallace and Gromit, was one of a series of free Creative Arts Weeks run by The University of Bath’s Division for Lifelong Learning.
The four-day arts project gives pupils the opportunity to work with artists and professionals from the arts industry. Year 10 pupil Molly Baker-Stewart said: “I’ve really enjoyed it and now I want to be a digital animator when I grow up.”
One of the tutors, freelance creative director Clinton Osborne, said: “The depth of ideas is remarkable.
“It’s an amazing opportunity to work with an amazing bunch of animators and talented young people – a real master class.”
The university has been running the workshops for secondary school pupils since 2004.
