Year 6 children of King's Lodge School performed Oliver! this week, their final production before moving to secondary school.
Staff, parents and pupils were thrilled by the children's two performances which included wonderful acting, singing and choreographed dance routines.
The lead role of Oliver was superbly played by Sam Barker-Cooper who performed pitch perfect renditions of Where is love?, whilst Ben Flynn acted a truly villainous Fagin and Lily Webster, a kind, good-natured Nancy, all supported by a strong Year 6 cast who, with great gusto, belted out the show's songs Consider Yourself and Oom-Pah-Pah.
Scenery, depicting Victorian London, as well as props and costume, were creatively made by the school's teaching assistants, whilst the Y6 teachers and TAs directed the successful production and assisted children in learning their many lines and songs.
Miss Woon, UKS2 Team Leader, said "The children were amazing. We all loved putting on the show and know the whole school and parents enjoyed watching it. It has been a perfect end to a wonderful year."
Mrs Ratcliff, retiring as the school's headteacher at the end of this academic year, added "As I looked at the children on stage, acting and singing with such confidence and professionalism, they seemed to all the world as though they were secondary students. I am very proud of the whole year group - children and staff."
