SEVEN-year-old Eleanora Ljungman from Upper Seagry celebrated her birthday in style as qualified for the Royal International Horse Show during a competition in Wales.

Eleanora, of Manor Farm, who has been riding all her life, not only won the lead rein class on her pony Amesbury Valentine, but also claimed the championship at the Pencoed Agricultural Show in Wales on her birthday on Saturday.

"We had this big discussion about if she was okay with doing a show on her birthday but she said she wanted to," her mum Charlotte said.

"She is absolutely over the moon with her sash - she has wanted one for so long. She doesn't know much about the Royal International because she's never been before but because she was like a mini celebrity walking through the car park with everyone congratulating her, she knew it was important!

"I'm so proud of her. The qualifiers are so competitive and it is quite rare for the first reign to beat the first ridden, so she's done really well."
