TO celebrate the centenary of the Royal Air Force, members of the Corsham and Chippenham RAFA branch will be walking a total of ten miles between the two towns.

RAFA members will walk one mile for each ten years of the RAF via Calne carrying a token representing Major General Hugh Trenchard, the first commander of the force.

The token will arrive at Corsham Town Hall at midday on April 28 via a World War Two jeep and motorcycle escort, where it will then be met by Councillor Ruth Hopkinson and supports of the RAF.

It will then go on display at MOD Corsham on April 30, in the Martingate Centre shopping centre on May 2 and in the Emery Gate shopping centre on May 4 from 10am-2pm.

The token will then depart for Calne via Chippenham on the commemorative walk from Corsham at 10am on May 5.
