WORK to gild the names of fallen serviceman from Chippenham on the town's war memorial has been completed in time for Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday.
The gilding, which was sponsored by chartered accountants Mander Duffill, forms part of the ongoing renovation works, which started two years ago.
Julian Duffill said: “We are delighted to have contributed to the community through the intricate renovation of such an important memorial, which recognises the sacrifice of local soldiers and also acts as a reminder to us of those who are still serving.”
Chippenham Mayor, Councillor Mary Norton added: “The War Memorial in Chippenham is a treasured monument in the town and we are so pleased so see the gilding work revitalised for the future generations”.
A service will be held at the war memorial on Sunday, November 12.
