A VEHICLE, believed to be a Ford Ranger, was used to drive into a Costcutter shop window at the Texaco garage, at The Green, Lyneham in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, October 21).
Police received a report of a break-in at Costcutter shortly before 1am where an unsuccessful attempt was also made to access the ATM machine.
PC Nick Kelly said: “We have been carrying out enquiries following the report early this morning and it would appear that at least three vehicles were seen to drive past the location whilst the incident was taking place – we’d like to speak to these members of the public immediately.
“We believe the offenders were on site for approximately five minutes. They left in the direction of the roundabout which leads to either Calne or Bradenstoke.
“Although they got away empty handed, a lot of damage was caused to stock and display stands.
“Were you driving through Lyneham just before 1am this morning? Did you witness anything suspicious, or do you have dash-cam footage which could help with our enquiries? Please call 101 immediately.”
