THE pastry chef at Castle Combe's Manor House helped Dorothy House celebrate the efforts of a Chippenham fundraiser by treating her to a tea party.

Michael Topp helped the hospice throw the Dorothy House Tea Party for Angela Sadler on Monday (September 4) after she raised an impressive £758 with her own tea party in April at the Rise Children's Centre, which was organised in memory her husband Richard.

Mrs Sadler was joined by Elaine Stewart and friends, who have set up the hospice's new Chippenham Friends Group, which launched in July. The duo were given the opportunity to promote the Hospice's new prize draw, which is open to anyone who has either hosted or is planning to host a Dorothy's Tea Party this year.

"I decided to host a tea party to raise money for the hospice in memory of my husband Richard, who was cared for beautifully by Dorothy House in 2015 before he died," she said. "I’d say to anyone don’t hesitate to host a Dorothy’s Tea Party, it is a lot easier than you think especially if you have the party planning pack to guide you.”

The prize draw offers two prizes; afternoon tea at the Manor House worth £60 or a vegetarian cookery course at Demuths Cookery School worth £165. The prizes will be awarded to participants whose names are drawn out of a hat on Tuesday, October 3.

Ellie Dale, community fundraiser at Dorothy House Hospice Care, said: “Dust off your vintage china and get together with friends, family or colleagues for a Dorothy’s Tea Party before 31 December 2017 to support your local Hospice."
