CHURCHES in Chippenham united together to put on a dazzling display of activities in Monkton Park for their Noah and the Ark themed fun day over the weekend. Thousands graced The Island for the the free fun day on Saturday, which was hosted by Chippenham Churches Together, for the biblical themed event which exceeded all expectations.

"We wanted to put on a Fun Day that would bless the community and give everyone a great free fun day out," Noreen Berry, secretary of Chippenham Churches Together, said. "At least 12 Chippenham churches got together to organise an amazing array of activities, many based on the Noah's Ark theme, such as a very creative Noah's Ark photo booth, where children could have photos taken after having their faces painted or wearing the animal masks they had made.

"There were lots of competitions and many of the children were delighted to receive prizes to take home with them as keepsakes of the Fun Day. One of the most popular tents was the cool and funky take on Noah's Ark.

"As the largest community group in Chippenham, we have been uplifted by all the positive comments - that it was a great family friendly day out, no-one could believe that it was all totally free! Everyone who came said how much they loved it and enjoyed it.

"We are already looking forward to making plans for next year's Fun Day and building on the success of this year's."
