DOGS of all shapes and sizes entertained the crowds with their tricks and turns at the annual Langley Burrell Fete and Dog Companion Show over the weekend.

Organisers were delighted to see that hundreds of people from their growing community flocked to the annual event at the Village Hall and fields on Saturday afternoon to help raise money for the St Peter's Church roof fun and the regeneration of the village hall.

Katerina Johnstone of the Langley Burrell Parish Council and the Village Hall committee said: "We are really pleased because it is our main fundraising event and we smashed our fundraising target last year and we think we have done it again and raised in excess of £2,000.

"The money will be split between the roof fund at St Peter's Church and the Village Hall where we are hoping to improve the kitchen facilities and bring it into the 21st century."

Visitors to the fete were treated to the sounds of local band That's Life, while children also tried their hand at a variety of games from Hoopla to hook-a-duck.

"We have many more fundraisers during the year but it is mostly just to get people in the community together but I think it went really well," she added.
