STAFF at Good Energy in Chippenham showed their solidarity London and Manchester following the recent terror attacks by rowing the full distance between the two cities in order to raise money for the people affected.

More than 70 employees took part in the 262km challenge on Thursday, June 15 with rowing starting at 7.30am and continuing throughout the day to reach the distance. The rowers raised an incredible £550 which was then matched by the company for the Red Cross UK Solidarity Fund.

Francoise Woodward, Director People and Culture at Good Energy said, “Like everyone across the country, we were all shocked by recent events. So we thought let’s do something to actively show our support for Manchester, London and all those affected.

"There was a fantastic atmosphere as our people cheered on their colleagues on the rowing machines and I know everyone in Good Energy feels proud of how by working together, such a significant distance was covered and that the money raised will help those caught up in these terrible events.”

The Red Cross Solidarity Fund was set up by the Red Cross to help those affected by terror attacks after 22 people were killed and 119 people injured in the Manchester Bombing Area on May 22 and eight people killed during the attacks in London Bridge and Borough Market two weeks later.
