SCHOOLS, firms and activity groups in Chippenham are all doing their bit for Comic Relief today.

Staff at Sainsburys are tackling a static bike ride with a Fools and Horses theme, while elderly residents at Ferfoot Care Home will be dressed in red for a sing-a-long this afternoon.

Staff at Good Energy in Monton Hill have already raised £350 by sponsoring staff member Jimmy to have his head shaved this afternoon - he is more than a little apprehensive, claiming its 10 years since he had his flowing locks trimmed.

Earlier in the week youngsters at the town's Tumble Tots session, held every Tuesday, supported the appeal when they played out the lives of their favourite film or story characters.

The older classes of two-three-year-olds and four-five-year-olds crawled through Batman's cave, became Spiderman climbing across a web and flew like Superman. They climbed ladders like Fireman Sam and threw snowballs at a snowman on the Frozen themed equipment station.

The younger children built a snowman with hoops, bean bags, sticks and shapes.

Bath and West Wiltshire Tumble Tots franchisee Debbie Bensley said: "Both parents and children love our special themed classes and every year we actively support both Comic Relief as well as Children in Need.

"So far, over £50 has been raised with more to come as we head towards Comic Relief night."

There was also a treasure hunt in which the children could win lots of comic relief prizes, and both adults and children were invited to come dressed in red, or in costume as their favourite character.
