PUPILS at Hardenhuish School have welcomed new arrivals who certainly aren’t sheepish, after four lambs were born.

The school has been running a Sheep Club for several years to allow pupils to get hands-on experience with sheep, as well as other animals including ponies, alpacas and goats.

Two ewes gave birth to the four new arrivals last week, which are fit and healthy although they are being bottle fed to help out their first-time mothers.

The four remaining ewes are also expecting and their lambs are expected in the next few weeks.

Henry Rogers, science teacher at Hardenhuish School, who oversees the sheep, said: “Having grown up on a farm, I have a passion for animal care and so I am delighted to be able to pass this on to the pupils.”
