A CHIPPENHAM woman will have her hair shaved off and raise money for charity in memory of her mum, who recently died from cancer after being diagnosed less than three months ago.

Sarah Styles will have her hair cut-off to raise money in support of Macmillan Cancer Support and the Dorothy House Hospice in memory of her mum, Gail.

The 62-year-old was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on June 26 this year and died on September 22. Her funeral was held on Thursday (October 6).

“She fell sick and died very quickly, we only found out in June that she had cancer,” said Miss Styles, 30.

“I’ve already managed to raise £1,700 and my original target was £250 so to be up to that and past it has blown my mind.

“I’m a little bit nervous about getting my hair shaved and as it’s getting closer I’m getting more nervous as it will be quite a dramatic change.”

The hair shave will take place from 3-9pm at the Old Lane pub, on Lodge Road, on Saturday (October 15).

There will be a raffle, lucky dip, cake sale and kids entertainer plus DJ Chubby Brown, with the head shave taking place at 4pm.
