TWO RESIDENTS from Marshfield will be celebrating their anniversaries in style as they were surprised with a £75,000 win in the People's Postcode Lottery this weekend.

Jackie White and Leslie Andrews of Robbins Close couldn't believe their eyes when their postcode was drawn as the winner of the Saturday Street Prize.

As Mrs White played with two tickets, she netted a huge £50,000 win, while Mr Andrews, a retired lorry driver won half of the amount up for grabs.

"I thought I'd maybe won two or three thousand so when that cheque for £50,000 came out of the golden envelope I just couldn't believe it," Mrs White said. "My husband Danny and I are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary soon so we were going to either get a new kitchen to mark the occasion or go on a cruise – I think we’ll be doing both now!"

“Supporting so many charities was a major factor in why I signed up – playing with People’s Postcode Lottery is such a lovely way to back a huge range of charities all at the same time.

Since its inception, the People's Postcode Lottery has raised more than £142 million for over 2000 charities across Great Britain and internationally.

Mr Andrews, who will soon be celebrating his golden wedding anniversary and his birthday with a smile, said he couldn't believe his luck and compared his win to Scotland beating England in the football.

Danyl Johnson, People’s Postcode Lottery Ambassador said: "It was so lovely to meet Jackie and Leslie today – a massive congratulations to both of them!"
