RESIDENTS were once again left angry and disappointed in Lyneham after the village’s parish council supported a planning application for 60 homes, just months after another development on the same piece of land was rejected by Wiltshire Council.

More than 40 members of the public attended the heated meeting where plans for 60 homes at Pound Farm by developers Gleeson were being discussed by Lyneham and Bradenstoke Parish Council on Tuesday.

The parish council had previously written a letter in support of a development for 111 homes at Pound Farm by Gleeson, to the shock of residents, before it was rejected by Wiltshire Council in April.

Nova Pearce said: “Was the last letter of support written by someone from Gleeson or did anyone from Gleeson have any input?”

Geoff Jackson-Haines, chair of the parish council said: “That’s rather a strong remark, Gleeson’s had no part in that letter whatsoever.

“I’m surprised to get a question like that.”

The parish council agreed to the 60 home development in principle but had concerns regarding the proposed junction.
