IT was a day of fun and sunshine in Chippenham as adults and children flocked to Pewsham Park for a free family fun day.

Organised by Chippenham Town Council, the event included activities such as football with members of Stanley Park, a creative making session with the Chippenham Museum and Heritage Centre and a bouncy castle.

There was also chance for local community groups to promote themselves including Lockside WI, Time2Live, King’s Rise, Pewsham Belles WI and Chippenham street pastors.

The fun day was the second to be held in the town following the event in John Coles Park earlier this year.

Councillors decided last year to hold a second fun day in one of the eight town wards, with Pewsham being chosen as the first, to provide a free, family focused event for the community.

Chippenham Mayor Terry Gibson said: “This was our first family fun day in one of the wards and it was very successful.

“It was so nice to see a housing area coming together in a lovely village atmosphere.

“The fun day was aimed at families so it was good to see so many children having such a good time and enjoying both our fun day event and some good weather.”
