IT was a day to remember for the Year 11 pupils of Abbeyfield School as they celebrated their prom at the Manor House Golf Course in Castle Combe.

A horse and VW camper van were just some of the unique and unusual ways the 125 pupils from the Chippenham school made their way to the venue, where they enjoyed a buffet and disco.

Teacher Carly Stoneman, who has worked at Abbeyfield School for six years and is head of house, said: “It was great, really good, it was a nice day for it and they got lots of nice pictures in the sun.

“We had one girl turn up on a horse which was good and we had three VW camper vans follow each other in.

“It was as good as if not better than the other proms we’ve had and all of the Year 11 teachers turned up to see them.

“We had a screen of rolling photos which had random pictures of the pupils from Year 7 and throughout their years at the school.

“For me personally this year group was when I was a tutor so I’ve seen them grow-up.”
